Are you wondering if God has forgotten about you? He hasn't. Not ever.

If God were to send you a message, I think He’d write something like the words in this note.
For all the Girlfriends who have laughed from our bellies together, cried the ugly cry, and eaten chocolate- chocolate chip ice cream with each other before lunch…This is for you! (How about telling your Girlfriends how special they are today!) (Whoo hoo! My book, God, Girlfriends & Chocolate is now available for Kindle!)
I spent last Friday afternoon sitting at my kitchen table with Agent Frank from the Geek Squad. Could a Friday afternoon get any more exciting than that? I mean, really. Computer meltdowns spiraling and client deadlines passing. Bring out the Advil. {I know. Why the Advil when I’m trusting Jesus to keep my head from exploding? Because I think there are times when Jesus and Advil is the perfect combo.}
Hey, Friends… Just a quick note as we head into the weekend. We work hard all week, don’t we? Meeting the expectations of our boss or our client or the grumpy, whiny person in the cube next to us. Managing the routine at home…laundry that multiplies in the laundry basket, grocery shopping for meals we don’t have time to make, hiding the moldy fruit in the fridge, and printing our name in the dust on the bedroom dresser. Volunteering at church or school or the food shelf
Winter is over in Minnesota. Can I hear an Amen! (At least we hope it is. Let’s all knock on a piece of wood that’s no longer snow-covered, shall we?) The thick Michelin-woman parkas are stuffed into the basement closets, stocking caps with the cute ear flaps are shoved into the Tupperware organizers, and our boots …well, they’re still in reachable distance because we have this the-snow-has-melted-where-does-the-water-go thing going on. We are pros at knowing how to protect our skin and bones during the season of blizzards
What’s the plan? It’s my mom’s favorite question. She asks it during the middle-of-the-night wake-ups, first thing in the morning, and several times throughout the daily routine. It takes me back to summer days long ago. Every morning starting the very first day of summer vacation, my sisters and I would sit on the red upholstered kitchen chairs around the shiny silver Formica table with the aluminum edging. Mom would help us make a list. Our plan for the day. It always included work responsibilities. Things like
Hey, you. Yeah. You. Today is for you. Don’t miss it. Grab it! Yeah, I know. Your calendar is overscheduled. Your commitments are over the top crazy. And you are overwhelmed with stuff. But…what if you just take a few minutes to take a breath? What if you grab a few moments and remember that you are alive and this moment won’t come again and that life is bigger than your to-do list, calendar, and demands that never stop. I’m going to do that. Take a breath.
Good morning, Lord. It’s me again. Since you and I have this agreement that we will have truthful conversations with each other, Can I just say… All I want to do today is fret. Did you ever have a day like that, Lord? A day when fretting just seemed to be the ideal response to life? Yeah. I bet you did.
