Ready to Reignite Your Spirit?

Sometimes I need a kick in the butt.
Other times? I just need a nap.

And isn’t it just like God to offer both?

Acts 22:10 says, “What should I do, Lord?” And the Lord told me, ‘Get up and go.’”

Oh my. Yes. I bet you’ve heard that direction too, right?

God didn’t place us here–at this time, in this place—to stand still. He has something for us to do. We are part of his beautiful plan. And we can’t respond to his call if we refuse to move.

I’ve discovered that God uses two different voices with me when He wants me to move.

Sometimes His voice feels like a gentle nudge. Steady and kind. A whisper. I hear him through His Word, books, my prayers. It’s that oh-so-persistent message that captures my attention.

The other voice? Oh, that one sounds like it’s straight from the red-suspendered TV pastor, pacing back and forth across the platform. He’s in full “outside voice” mode, leaning forward like he can see me in my living room, shouting straight through the screen: “Get out there and go! Now! What ya waitin’ for?!”

Yes. Sometimes we need that kick.

But sometimes we need to take a nap.

There are those moments when God says, Rest.

Just like we can’t get up and go if we refuse to move, we can’t get up and go if we are worn out. Trying to go on our own strength.

Have you read Psalm 23 from The Message? It says:
“You have bedded me down in lush meadows, you find me quiet pools to drink from. True to your word, you let me catch my breath and send me in the right direction.”

Every time I read that, I want to lean my head back, close my eyes, and just breathe. Maybe you do too.

I live in this world of both the “get up and go” and the “catch your breath.” And that’s exactly what led me to write Reignite Your Spirit!

Because I live in this constant dance of moving forward then catching my breath, I wanted to offer you something that could walk with us through both seasons.

Something that brings the letters from my book Anticipate God’s Goodness right into our real-life days. The busy ones, the hard ones, and the joy-filled ones.

Reignite Your Spirit!, the companion guide to Anticipate God’s Goodness, is for the everyday moments when we wonder how to anticipate that goodness in our messiness, celebrations, and everything in-between. The guide is full of reflection questions, stories, and practical steps to help you say Yes, take the next step, pause when you need to, and keep moving forward.

You can walk through this guide on your own, letter by letter, or gather a few friends and share what you’re learning together. (And if you do start a group, I’d love to pop in by video for your first session — schedule permitting — just to say hello and cheer you on!)

So, my friend, whether today finds you resting in a lush, quiet meadow or you’re sprinting toward what’s next with great enthusiasm, this guide is for you. (I’m quite excited about it!)

I’ve got a sneak peak of it for you! I’d be so delighted if you’d check it out … and then get a copy of your own reignited encouragement.
