You are amazing, you know. Don’t let anyone ever tell you something different.
Think about it…
No one else in the history of the entire world is like YOU. You are unique. No one talks like you, moves like you, thinks like you, dreams like you do. And that makes you special.
You are “God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works…” (Ephesians 2:10). His workmanship – his piece of art. His sonnet. His most beautiful colors on a canvas. A creation He dreamed of, created, brought into being, and loves. A masterpiece.
Yes, there may be quirks and habits that you wish wouldn’t show up so frequently. And there are probably chapters and characters that you would love to see removed from your story. But regardless…you are amazing.
It’s easy to see ourselves less than amazing when we compare schedules, vacation experiences, children’s behavior, and the ability to tan in the summer (Have mercy…), with those we see in the store, on Facebook, and in our neighborhood. And I think we all know: Comparison rarely brings us to a better place. Right? Comparison leads us down that muddy path to the rut that says we are not amazing, because we do not have / are not like / not good enough. And that does not honor our soul, and it certainly does not honor the Amazing God who created us and loves us unconditionally.
May I encourage you to step into your amazing-ness this week?
Write it on your bathroom mirror or on a sheet of paper taped to your wall…I am amazing.
My pimples, beauty marks, quirks, habits, and grace-filled moments included.
Believe it, my friend. It is truth.
You are amazing.
