The seconds seem like minutes…minutes seem like hours.
And it takes forever to make it one time around the face.
Time all but stands still while you wait.
Wait for time – this season – to pass.
…A job that is unfulfilling and unbearable.
…A home filled with tension and angry words.
…A sadness so deep it makes your heart raw.
…A life transition that just never seems to end.
You watch the clock…
Wishing the big hand and the little hand would spin furiously rather than stroll infuriatingly.
You watch the calendar…
Wishing the pages would flip and take you to another time…perhaps another place.
Time heals all wounds, or some say.
Don’t waste a moment, others say.
You just want to sleep – peacefully – until these seemingly-never-ending moments pass.
We’ve all been there, My Friend.
And in these times…let’s pray together…
Because our prayers aren’t influenced by the big hand and the little hand…
God is here 24/7.
“My times are in your hands; deliver me from my enemies and from those who pursue me.
Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love.” (Psalm 31:15)
“Trust in him at all times, O people;
Pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.” (Psalm 62:8)
Dear Friend, if these thoughts resonate with your heart today…
You are not alone.
God has not abandoned you.
The big hand and the little hand will move again.
You are cared about.
