Sigh. And sigh again.

Sigh.

Can I say it again?

Sigh.

Do you find yourself exhaling as you say that word? Me too. And in my head, I say it in a whisper. There are some days that I just need to sigh. Exhale.

Today has been one of those days. I know you and I want to know joy. We want to feel it in our bones. We want to wrap it around our hearts.

And you know? Sometimes joy doesn’t show up in the giggles or the parties or the fun times. Sometimes we find the joy in our sighs.

Author Kay Warren defines Joy as “the settled assurance that God is in control of all the details of my life, the quiet confidence that ultimately everything is going to be alright, and the determined choice to praise God in every situation.” *

I like that. My friend, whatever situation you are in today… Whatever cares and sadness weigh heavy on your heart… Whatever hurts… God is right there with you. He knows. He cares. Take a moment right now. Take a deep breath. Exhale.

Sigh.

And then sigh again.

God promises you and He promises me…

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned.”
(Isaiah 43:2)

God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
(Hebrews 13:5)

Sigh.
