Have you had a week when you wonder if there’s a sign plastered on your forehead that says, “Problems…Enter here.”? Last week was one of those weeks for us. My husband Steve and I felt like we were playing a game of dodge ball, but our hands were tied behind our backs and our feet were glued to the floor!
So I texted my sisters with an S.O.S. call. “Please pray.”
Julie texted me back…”Lifting you both up.”
Aren’t those beautiful words?
I could just see Julie taking us in her hands and lifting us up to The One who would know what to do.
“Here God. Would you please take care of Steve and Gaye’s frustrations? Would you please restore their peace?”
That’s what sisters and Girlfriends do, right? We respond to each other’s S.O.S. calls by lifting each other up to the throne of grace and the great Mercy-Giver. I bet that makes Jesus smile. He wants to meet our needs, AND He loves to see us stand in for each other.
I know that Julie would have done anything she could do physically to help out if we needed it. But she responded with what we needed most…To be lifted up.
Do you need to be lifted up? Send an S.O.S. to someone who will intercede and stand with you.
That’s what Girlfriends do.
