Dear Lord,
Today, may I be like …
… The mama.
She woke up one morning, packed her little boy’s lunch of fish and bread as always, and sent him off to hear the preacher. She didn’t know that she was part of a miracle, while doing her normal everyday stuff.
May I remember that my daily actions make a difference.
No matter how insignificant they seem.
… The little boy.
He was finding a good place to sit on the grassy hill to hear the teacher preach and heard they were looking for food. He could have kept his little lunch for himself. It wasn’t much—a few pieces of bread and a couple of small fish—how could it feed thousands? But he offered what he had. He didn’t realize that sharing his lunch would be part of a miracle.
May I remember that even when what I have
seems small and ordinary,
I can give it to the Miracle Worker
who will use it to make miracles.
Today, may I remember …
You are the God of Miracles. You fed 5,000 men and a whole bunch of women and children with five barley loaves and two small fish. You are the same God who provides for me today.
You are the God who hangs the stars and commands the sun to come up in the morning. You know my name and how many hairs are on my head. You understand my pain and you hear my prayers. Thank you.
There is nothing too difficult for you.
Lord, today …
May I be part of your miracles in the lives of those around me. Use my words and actions to make a difference.
May I receive your miracles in my own life.
Amen.
