A Promise for Today

God has something good for you in today.

This little community we’ve created here? It’s meant to be a soft place for your spirit. A breath of fresh air. A dose of encouragement when your heart needs it most.

And sometimes, encouragement shows up simply as this: an honest nod that life can feel heavy.

I wish I could peek into your world today, to understand what your days are holding.

Maybe someone you love is hurting, and you’re carrying the weight of it through sleepless nights.
Maybe you’re spending more time in a transitional care unit or hospice room than you ever imagined.
Or maybe the noise and chaos of the world just feels like too much, and you’d give anything to just shut it all out.

I’ve been in those places too. I understand.

So please take these words and tuck them into your heart. Let them breathe with you. Let them beat in rhythm with your own pulse:
God knows. God sees. God cares.

Yeah, I know. Sometimes, it really doesn’t feel that way.

But here’s what I’m learning (and re-learning):
Our feelings are real, but they aren’t always truth.

Feelings reflect what we’re walking through. Grief, fear, sadness, hope, joy, peace. They matter. But they’re not always reliable guides.

Truth, on the other hand, is solid ground. It’s what’s real and unchanging, even when our emotions shift by the hour. And for those of us walking with God, truth is rooted in His Word. Not in the swirl of how we feel.

So what does that mean when life feels hard?
It means we hold space for both the reality of pain and the promise of God’s goodness.

It means we remind ourselves of this:

  • You may feel abandoned, but the truth is: God will never leave you. (Hebrews 13:5)
  • You may feel stuck, but the truth is: God is always working—even when you can’t see it. (Romans 8:28)
  • You may feel like there’s nothing good right now, but the truth is: His goodness and love are following you every single day. (Psalm 23:6)

Let’s not miss this:
God is good.
Life can be hard.
But life’s hard doesn’t cancel God’s good.

Just for a moment, imagine we were together right now.
I’m sitting beside you, our heads gently leaning together. One hand on your back, making slow, soothing mama-circles. Just breathing with you, being with you.

And I whisper what I know to be true:
God knows. God sees. God cares.

Lift your chin today.
Let the sun warm your face.
Invite God into your exact moment.
Tell Him what’s weighing on your heart. And then … listen. Let His comfort come. Let His love wrap around you.

Because …
God has something good for you in today.
No matter your situation.
No matter how you feel.
Watch for it.
He keeps His promises.
