Your Whatever Matters

Whatever.

It’s a word that sometimes comes from our mouth when we are …
Tired of the conversation.
Reluctant to discuss the conflict.
Walking away.

Oh my. I can see me in some of those whatever moments!
Whatever usually comes out as a disappointed whisper when I’m walking away from the person who just doesn’t understand that what I’m saying is right and he is most definitely not right and I’m too tired to argue and the conversation just doesn’t seem worth the effort. My back is turned, and my hand is waving away the moment. Right? You’ve been in this kind of moment? Good grief. Have mercy.

One simple word conveys so much.

This morning, whatever showed up in my study time with a completely different meaning. And it was a helpful, hope-bringing whatever!

And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith. (Matthew 21:22 ESV)

Here’s our reminder:
God cares about my whatever.
He cares about your whatever.
Our whatever matters to God.

The big stuff. The little stuff. Your crisis. Your annoyances. Your family, finances, heartaches, joys, health, messes. Your mistakes, weariness, aches and pains, frustrations, disagreements. The very fact that Jesus said whatever we ask in prayer tells us that He cares about it!
Whatever it is, God cares about it.

Whatever your whatever is, He knows about it. He wants to celebrate it. Redeem it. Restore it. Heal it.

Oh my. Doesn’t that ust move your hope-meter to max?

God has promised YOU that He cares about your big and small whatevers.

So, whatever is on your mind and on your heart today, leave it with Jesus. He will take care of it.

Your whatever matters.
