He was one of the happiest guys I’ve ever seen.
He bounced into Culver’s Restaurant with a broad smile and eyes that said, “Today is awesome!”
This guy ordered a sandwich and fries and the ice cream of the day. Before his order was up, he was savoring his ice cream treat while waiting for the rest of his food. He leaned against the counter, clearly enjoying every lick and spoonful of that Snickers Swirl. He didn’t have earbuds in, but he seemed to be listening to tunes because he just kept bopping! Nothing extreme, just moving in the moment.
What a treat to watch.
He walked in, and sunshine entered.
I want to live like that. You too?
I want to enjoy the moment that’s as simple as an ice cream of the day treat. Play music in my head that gives me energy and lifts my soul. Share the smiles. Let my attitude tell you that “Life is good! It’s a this is livin’! moment!”
And here’s how I’m going to do it.
I’m going to set my mind on the things that Paul writes about in his 4th letter to the Philippians: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable! Why? Because I know that my actions are going to follow what I’m thinking about, right? Thinking on things like that will certainly bring the bounce. The smile. The sunshine.
On his way out I asked my new Guy Who Brings the Sunshine friend, “Is that ice cream as good as it looks?” He grinned big – “It’s even better!”
Yea. I’m on this. This is cool.
Let’s bring the sunshine!
