In the Messiness

Be strong and courageousHello, My Friends.

There’s so much good crossing our paths.
Isn’t there?
So much to be thankful for. Really.

And…
There are times when life just seems…tough.

Lord, please just get me out of this mess.
This situation.
This chaos.

Oh, God, can you please just remove the pain.
The problem.
The disease.

We want—we need—God to remove us from the messiness.

And many times, He does.
He removes us from it.

He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters.
(Psalm 18:16)

But other times?
God meets us in the messiness.

I don’t know why God doesn’t fix and heal all the messes.
But I do know with all my heart that He always meets us in the messes.

Those life events that overwhelm?
That keep you up at night? That distract you?

God knows exactly what’s going on.
Don’t believe for one minute that He isn’t right there with you if the mess doesn’t get fixed.

Let Him be your Hope. Your Peace. Your Rest.

If He doesn’t remove the mess…
He will meet you in the messiness.
It’s a promise.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23)

When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul. (Psalm 94:19)

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

{May I suggest…tape these verses to your bathroom mirror. Your fridge. Your notebook.
Let them fill your mind with the promise of Hope.}
