Dear God,
We don’t get to pick our fathers. Many of us have dads who care for us, provide for us, and love us. Some of us have fathers who are absent. And some of us don’t know our fathers.
Thank you for being a Father who CHOSE us to be his children. Thank you for being a faithful Father. A Father who ALWAYS wants the very best for us. A Father who will NEVER let us down.
On this Father’s Day, we pray for the millions of children who don’t have a dad. Please give them a special reminder today that you love them more than they will ever know. Protect them. Teach them. Guard their hearts.
We also ask that you place a special blessing on the lives of the single moms. Give them extra strength, patience, and love this week.
And bless the dads. Thank you for the sacrifices so many of them make for their families. Help us know how to thank them, honor them, and love them in ways that are meaningful to them.
I miss my dad today, God. Thank you for blessing me with a dad who loved you first, and then loved his family unconditionally. Thank you for a father who taught me how to pray. How to work. How to laugh.
Thank you, Father, for caring about me.
