A Place to Relax

Alone…

Our shoulders are not big enough to carry
what we think we must.

Our emotions are too human to care
as deeply as we think we must.

Our perspectives are too limited to make
all the decisions we think we must.

We don’t need to live Alone.

This morning I re-read something I wrote in God, Girlfriends, & Chocolate.
It just resonated with me once again.

May I share it with you?

God’s Strength…A Place to Relax

An untroubled mother carried her young daughter down the sidewalk as I watched. The little girl’s legs were wrapped around her mother’s waist; pink leggings and white tennis shoes dangling in complete relaxation from her mother’s hips. Her tiny, soft arm curled around her mother’s neck as her dimpled chin rested on the strong shoulder of the attentive woman who had carried her since conception.

It was a perfect picture of strength and serenity. I want someone to carry me like that. (I need someone to carry me like that.)

Today it would feel liberating to not be in charge, to not be the decision-maker. I want someone else – someone strong – to carry me.

It would feel so freeing to relax…to let go as completely as a child.

Dear Lord,

Would you carry me for a little while? Would you let me just dangle my feet and breathe deeply while I find strength in your arms? Thank you.

Would you like a little inspiration from me every day?
