A Place to Belong

My Friend, Stephanie, and I were having one of those really neat conversations around my kitchen table last week.

You know, the one where we could probably solve all the world’s problems if we wanted to.  But we’re more interested in the details of each other’s every day, “this is my world” experiences.

…Appreciating the text messages that Stephanie gets from her kids while they’re at school, even though they’re at that age where it may not be “cool” to check in with mom.

…Realizing that the only text My Mom can relate to is the one that’s read before the sermon on Sunday mornings.

We are in different seasons of our lives, and yet…
We are not that different.

Like you, we both want a place to belong.  A place where we can connect on things of the heart.  A place where we can talk about our faith stumbles without embarrassment, knowing we’ve all been there.  A place where we celebrate those Oh-so-joyous-I-didn’t-lose-it moments when we follow God’s promptings for kindness instead of criticism.

This God, Girlfriends, & Chocolate notes page provides me with that place.  I hope you are finding it a place to settle in, too.

I’ve missed writing the last couple weeks.  It feels good to be connecting with you again.

You are cared about.
You are prayed for.
I’m so glad to be in this place with you.

May he give you the desire of your heart,
and make all your plans succeed
.”  (Psalms 20:4)
